Robert "Bob" Vorhoff's Obituary
Robert “Bob” Vorhoff passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at the age of 84.
Beloved husband of Judith “Judy” Meyer Vorhoff. Loving father of Robert T. Vorhoff, Kurt M. Vorhoff (Elizabeth), Gretchen V. Nelson (Ken) and Erik A. Vorhoff (Wendy). Son of the late Mary Catherine Hayes and Conrad William Vorhoff. Brother of the late Conrad Vorhoff and Warren Vorhoff, bother-in-law to Marlene Toca. Grandfather of Alexandria, Kurt, Amanda, Kenneth, Connor and Blake. Also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Bob was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of St. Tammany Parish since 1999. Bob was a proud U.S. Army veteran of Korea, and a devout Catholic, volunteering many hours to the Church, for which he received numerous awards and accolades, including the Order of St. Louis Medal awarded by Archishop Hannan for his dedicated service.
In his later years, Bob enjoyed cooking and gardening, and he most cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St., Madisonville, LA 70447 at 12:00 noon with visitation at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until Mass time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests MASSES or contributions in memory of Mr. Vorhoff to be made to the St. Anselm Building Fund or St. Tammany Parish Hospital Foundation/Unfunded Patient Care.
