My condolences to the family of Dr. Sistrunk. I just found out about this. Loved Dr. Sistrunk! He was my OB/GYN from the time I was about 14 years old. He delivered my first child in 1981. He was definitely one of the best! He was a wonderful and kind and devoted person and he will be sorely missed.

ALL OF MY LOVE TO DR. SISTRUNK'S FAMILY. HE ALWAYS TREATED HIS PATIENTS AS A MEMBER OF HE BELOVED FAMILY. I WOKE LAST NIGHT AND HE WAS ON MY MIND AND I FELT SHOCK LIKE SOMETHING WAS WRONG SO I BEGAN TO PRAY FOR HIM. THIS MORNING SAME THING I COULD NOT GET HIM OUT OF MY MIND. I DISCOVERED THAT HE HAD DIED IN APRIL. I AM SO HEART BROKEN AND SO SORRY THAT I MISSED HIS FUNERAL. PLEASE KNOW THAT HE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND PRAYERS. HE WAS A GREAT DOCTOR AND FRIEND TO ALL HIS PATIENTS. HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. THANK YOU TO HIS WIFE GERALDINE, CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN FOR SHARING HIM WITH US. GOD'S BLESSINGS! My deepest sympathy to the family of my friend Royce. We worked together for many years at Baptist Hospittal and as a neonatologist I took care of his sick newborns, I always praised his caring atittude for his patients and his dedication to lessen the stress in many difficult situations.

My deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Sistrunk. I have very fond memories of Dr. Sistrunk; he delivered all three of my children in 1965, 1967 and 1969. According to what I remember being told at the time of my first baby, I was his first 'natural birth' patient, and really gave him a challenge by insisting on delivering "my way". He was such a sweetheart and very diplomatic in dealing with my insistence of how my children would be delivered. His willingness to be open about how I wished to have my babies was so important to me and to be able to talk with him about so many things that concerned me was most appreciated.

Again, my deepest condolences. You, and he, will be in my prayers.

I loved Royce. Had the pleasure of working with him at River Parishes Hospital. When I moved to Ponchatoula I had the pleasure of finding out that I literally lived across the street from him. He was a kind, gentle soul and he was so dedicated to Jeri. I have fond memories of sneaking him a large Reginelli's pizza whenever I made a trip in to Metairie. He loved the combo.He was a very dedicated physician and I remember ALL his patients following him to LaPlace.May God rest his soul in peace. My condolences to the Sistrunk family.

Terry , Mike and Shawn and family,
Your Dad was such a powerful influence on me growing up.
I remember days at the ranch bailing hay for some cash -- your dad was always so welcoming and his enthusiasm for getting out of things what you put into them such as hard work influenced me . What a great role model he was for us all !
I am very sorry for your loss but Dr. Royce will always be with us all.
