Robert Edward Owens Jr., age 78 of Hammond, LA died on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital in Jefferson, LA. Born, Tuesday, October 15, 1935 in St. Louis, MO to Robert Edward Owens, Sr. and Madge Glasscock Owens.
Survived by his Wife - Susan Fagan Owens, Son - Robert Edward Owens, III, Son - Richard Michael Owens (Melody), Step-Son - William Johnson (Julie), Step-Daughter - Mae Johnson, Brother - John Owens (Margaret), Sister - Vicki Aries (Roger), Granddaughter - Maggie Johnson, Granddaughter - Molly Johnson, Grandson - Benjamin Johnson.
He was predeceased by his Father, Mother, and his first Wife – Helen Becker Owens.
He served as a pilot in the LA Air National Guard, the Air Force during the Cold War and was a retired pilot with Pan American World Airways. He was a friend of Bill W.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Theodore Dendinger Cemetery, Hwy 21 Madisonville, LA 70447.
