Robert Hunt Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. Robert Hunt Jr., 86 years young, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on September 25, 2022. He was born in Covington, LA on October 22, 1935. He is preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, June Hunt; parents, Robert Sr. and Hazel Hunt; his son, Roger Hunt Sr.; his brothers, Andrew, Woodrow Sr., Ronald, Michael and Gary Hunt. Paw, as those closest to him loving referred to him, leaves behind his legacy of family; his son and daughter in law, Richard and Samantha Hunt; his daughters and sons in laws, Brenda and Raymond Clelland and Cynthia and Hershal Dunn; his brother, Roy D. Hunt along with more grands and greats than you can shake a stick at, but he dearly loved every one of them!
Paw had many career adventures in life from carpentry, to concrete, to farming, to a tugboat captain. He believed in doing whatever was necessary to provide for Ms June and the kids. What he did provide above all else was a sense of what was right and wrong. He didn’t advocate neutral; either you did it his way or the highway! If you told Paw he couldn’t do something, he would make sure that he did. Paw’s hobbies included working and then going to work. He seemed to find solace in nature by gardening. If you asked Paw his greatest accomplishment he would tell you that it wasn’t his career, it was being a husband, father and grandfather. He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important – the simplicity of living a life with those you love.
A visitation in Paw’s honor will be at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Bruhl Cemetery where Paw will be laid to rest next to his bride. While the family mourns the passing of Paw, they take comfort in knowing that they will be reunited one day.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please sign the E.J. Fielding Funeral Home online Guest Book at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
