Robert Joseph Daix, Sr.'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Daix, Sr. passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of 59 years to Barbara Webre Daix. Loving father of Debbie Watkins, Robbin Knipe Parsons and Robert “Bobby” Daix, Jr. Father-in-law of David Parsons and Stacey Daix. Son of the late Clementine and Edwin Daix. Brother of Odette Bono and the late Calvin Daix, Sr. Grandfather of Kevin Watkins (Melissa), Amanda O’Keefe (Matt), Kristen Knipe, Sean Knipe, Jennifer Watkins, Ben Parsons, Ali Parsons, Austin Daix, Adam Daix, Ashley Daix, Lance Engolia, Jr., Austin Engolia, Cassidy Engolia and Noah Engolia. Great-grandfather of Korbin Watkins, Layne O’Keefe, Memphis O’Keefe and Addelyn O’Keefe.
Mr. Daix was the founder of Hwy 40 Golf Carts/Golf Cart World. He was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard and a member of Metairie Masonic Lodge 444.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Friday beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Barker McManus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Daix to be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Children’s Hospital in New Orleans .
