Robert Lee Brown, Sr.'s Obituary
Sgt. Robert “Bobby” L. Brown, Sr. (Retired) passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010. He was born January 12, 1941 in Roan Mountain, TN to the late Joseph, Sr. and Delia Luntsford Brown and was a resident of Covington.
The beloved husband of Anne Andollina Clement Brown, he is survived by four children, Robert Brown, Jr., Shelly Brown, James “Chip” Clement (Brenda), Robin L. Couste; his son-in-law, John Couste; one sister, Shirley Kimball; three brothers: Joseph Brown, Jr. (Bobbie Jack), David Tucker (Elizabeth) and Richard “Fred” Tucker (Florence); four grandchildren: Robert Nicholas and Patrick Brown, John “J.J.” (Amanda) and Jeremy Couste (Melissa) and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Kaylee Couste. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Bertha Birchfield, Frances Waters, Clara Gardner and one brother, Grady Brown.
Robert was a Deputy on the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office for 26 years and reached the rank of Sergeant before his retirement. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served his country from 1958-1962, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and an active member of the American Legion Post 16.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours will begin Wednesday at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will immediately follow services.
