He is survived by his endearing companion, Helen Coats for 10 years. Bob was the beloved father of three children, his late son, Robert J. Jones, Jr., daughter, Terry Jones Moore Hoover (Darryl) and son Mike J. Windecker. He was the beloved grandfather of three grandchildren; his loving late grandson Archie “HERBIE” Moore, Jr., Benji J. Jones and Brandon Windecker; great grandfather of Camryn and Landon Jones, Ashleigh Josephine and Caleb Windecker, Braylon, Aubree, Jaci and Adelyn Moore. As a young boy growing up in old Covington, Bob was an entrepreneur. He built a sno-ball stand on wheels and would go up and down the avenues selling his shaved, icy, sweet treats in the summer. He was skilled at crafting colorful tissue kites, selling them to the local florist shop. He had a paper route and many evenings would come home with his fresh catch of river perch and catfish. Bob was a welder by trade with roots in Covington. He and his family also lived in Kenner, Illinois and Gonzales before returning to Covington to build a home near the Tchefuncte River. He enjoyed fishing, water skiing, boating, camping and gardening. He had a love for grafting camellias like his parents and siblings. The tradition continues in the family to this day. He loved trips to the Biloxi Gulf Coast to play the slots at the casino. The simplest things in life brought him great joy. Bob will be dearly missed by his family, nieces, nephews and friends.
