Robert "Bob" J. Himel, July 30, 1939 - November 26, 2015, child of the Most High God, native of Gretna, LA and a 33 year resident of Folsom, LA. Bob was embraced in the presence of God and his loving family at the time of his glorious home-going.
Son of the late Clarence F. Himel and Linah H. Himel. Adoring husband of 52 years to his bride, the late Gilda G. Himel.
Devoted father of Allison Himel Sieta married to Claude Sieta, Troy Himel, Patrick Himel married to Bridget Himel.
"Paw paw" loved by those who made him Grand: Jackie, Gabrielle, Nicole, Lauren, Jess, Anya and Ian; and those who made him Great: Cayman, Jack, Jude, Antonio Jr., London and Baylor.
Caring brother of Anita Mancuso, Garland Himel and the late Elizabeth "Betty" Oswald.
Bob's passion for cooking and serving others is enjoyed at the established family restaurant of 24 years, Specialty Italian Bistro. He enjoyed gardening, antiquing and was a man with a compassionate heart to help those in need. A gentleman full of integrity, Godly character, loyal and sincere. He was committed to sharing his life-learned wisdom and knowledge with all. Known for being a truly selfless man devoted to God, family, friends and his beloved country, America.
Please join the family for Bob’s glorious home going celebration at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 on the grounds of J.M. Fussell Cemetery, 80000 Fitzgerald Church Rd. Covington, LA 70435, followed by food and fellowship at the family home in Folsom, LA.
