As Director for JPHSA Community Services for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, Bob and I worked together over 20 years. He was a composed, sensitive and caring social worker and JPHSA Director for access to needed disability and mental health/behavioral services. He was a consummate professional, always taking care to ensure individuals and families needs were met and rights were honored. As a colleague, he was always willing to listen and share his wise advice and experience. We admired his family devotion and love of outdoors. He made a difference in the lives of so many. Such a kind and gentle man. Bob will be missed at every family get together. He certainly enjoyed his retirement, his free time to fish in Lake Pontchartrain with his kayak, and the time he had to plant a garden. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, they were good at making him laugh. I will forever remember him sitting on Grandma Lou's porch, enjoying the good times in quiet observation.
Bob was my boss for many years. I am so sorry to hear the news. I will always remember his patience and kindness even in difficult circumstances. He was always a good advocate for the people who worked for him, listening to our problems and ideas. He will be greatly missed. Julie Burke
