Robert Paul Anderson's Obituary
Robert Paul Anderson, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his home in Mandeville, LA surrounded by his family. He was born April 16, 1940 in Pineville, Mississippi to R.O. Anderson and Hazel Marie Anderson. He grew up in Laurel, Mississippi. After graduating from high school he joined the Army, completed his basic training and continued to serve for 23 years in the Army Reserve. He then attended Jones Jr. College and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was employed with Texaco Oil Company in Jackson, MS. and later was transferred to the New Orleans office, where he retired after 33 years of employment.
Paul was an active member of First Baptist Church Covington for 47 years. He humbly shared the love of Jesus to everyone around him. For over 30 years he worked in the Preschool Department and then served in the Young At Heart program. Paul was a member of Cliff Anglin’s Bible Study Class.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lynda M. Anderson, one son Todd Anderson (Karen), and one daughter Robin Allison (Joel). He is also survived by one grandson, Taylor Allison (Haley); four granddaughters, Paige Anderson, Ashlyn Anderson, Leah Anderson, and Lauren Allison; and two great grandchildren, McKenna Allison and Luke Allison.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents R.O. and Hazel Anderson, his sister Betty Pitts, and his niece Terri Bacon.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral service held at The Chapel at First Baptist Church Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 until service time. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA will follow services.
