Rita Wilkinson Gregg's Obituary
Rita Wilkinson Gregg born October 31, 1920 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Passed away April 20, 2006. Rita was a resident of St. Tammany Parish for over thirty years and an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister, lector and ministered to the sick. She was married for over sixty years to World War II Navy veteran, L.W. Gregg, Jr. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, her daughter Suzanne Gregg, her son Fred Gregg, and her daughters-in-law Linda Helton and Heather Gregg, as well as her grandchildren Becky Visosky, Stacy Gregg, Ryan Gregg and Alexis Gregg. Rita was the consummate homemaker and hostess and also previously ran a local shoe store – Colonial House of Shoes in Covington. She will be remembered fondly by family and friends. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 24, 2006 at 11:30 AM from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 2115 Jefferson Ave. (at Lafitte St.) Mandeville, LA 70448. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 3:00-5:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home 2260 West 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433 and on Monday at Our the Lady of the Lake from 10:30 AM until Mass. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Mausoleum in Covington.
