Richard Earl Stevens' Obituary
Richard Earl Stevens, age 65, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He was born on May 4, 1959, in Centerville, Mississippi.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandra “Sandy” Glass Stevens; children, Christopher Stevens (Amanda Percle) and Jessica Stevens Bolves (Andrew); grandchildren, Jaden Winston, Abygail Stevens, Brantley Bolves, and Scarlet Stevens; mother, Patsy Gynell Smith Stevens; brothers, John Stevens and Jimmy Stevens; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Monroe Stevens; and a sister, Patsy Stevens Thomas.
Richard was a 1977 graduate of Covington High School. He retired in 2011 as superintendent of the Covington Water Department, where he had spent the majority of his career. After retirement, he immersed himself in yardwork, woodwork, and caring for his chickens and his beloved dog, Winnie. He will be specifically remembered for his chicken and dumplings as well as his dry, sarcastic sense of humor
An evening wake will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington Louisiana.
Relatives and friends are also invited to attend the funeral services on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Barker-McManus Cemetery, 79407 Lee Road, Covington, Louisiana.
