Richard Simoneaux's Obituary
Beloved son of Lydia Courtney Knapp and Moseman Richard Simoneaux. Born December 2, 1925, deceased September 12, 2006.
He attended Jesuit and Warren Easton High Schools in New Orleans, LA and St. Leo College in Saint Leo Florida.
He served in World War II as a seaman with Army Transport Service and as a merchant mariner. He also served in the U. S. Army in Japan and Korea during the Korean War. In 1952 he received an LLB (JD) from Loyola of New Orleans, LA. After returning from the service he established a law practice in association with his father and his brother. He was a director of the Columbia Homestead Association.
He is survived by his brother and only sibling Earl Webster Simoneaux and sister-in-law Mary Carolyn Kessels and his nephews – Nicholas E.W. Evans, Peter Wynhoven, M.D. and wife Sarah Lynch, Collins Richard and wife Martha Sanchez and Charles Kessels and wife Kirk Eley. Also surviving are 3 great nephews and 1 great niece.
Private funeral services were held at the chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14, 2006.
