Karr West
I have fond memories of Dick Shelton who I realize now was just a young man in his 30's when I was a mere child visiting my grandmother (Anna Gaston Cooper)whose home was next door to the old Shelton family home on Leflore Street in Clarksdale. I can remember well how excited everyone in the old neighborhood would get when Dick, Gayle, or Marguerite and her family would come home to see their parents. My mom would take me with her to visit at the beautiful old home place that would now be considered a museum if still existed.
It's hard to believe that those memories, so heavily etched in my mind and seem like were only yesterday, occurred over 50 years ago. Special prayers and love go out to the family of Dick Shelton from the Cooper, Gaston, and West families.
