Richard "Steve" Roberts' Obituary
Richard “Steve” Roberts, Sr., age 66, of Bush, Louisiana, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. He was born on December 24, 1958, in Biloxi, Mississippi.
He is survived by his loving bride of 33 years, Judith Lynn Bankston Roberts; children, Richard Roberts, Jr. and Melody Roberts; and many extended family members and friends. His wife and children were his world and his greatest source of pride and blessing in life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Roberts; mother, Jacqueline “Jackie” Fanchav; stepfather, Eugene Fanchav; and stepmother, Doris Roberts.
Steve grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and attended the University of Mississippi, where he proudly obtained his bachelor’s degree in only 3 ½ years. He worked for many years as a food broker for RAM Brokerage in Birmingham, Alabama, and once held the world record for the world’s largest king cake. He loved all things Ole Miss sports, running the Ole Miss Radio Station as a student and avidly supporting all teams throughout adulthood.
Steve’s love for God guided every step of his life. He cherished his family and friends deeply and leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, and love.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM at North Cross Methodist Church, 311 Highway 21, Madisonville, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
