Dear Karen and Kevin,
Rick has been in our thoughts and prayers through his long ordeal, and will remain in our thoughts and prayers!
No one needs to tell you what an amazing person Rick was! He was an exceptional engineer, the consummate professional, and a true gentleman! Those of us who had the privelege of working with Rick - whether customers, co-workers, suppliers, shipyard folks, or crew - appreciated not only his intellect and insight and caring, but also his sense of humor, his ability to always look on the bright side of things, and his kind and gentle nature, not to mention his thick N'Awlins drawl. His time with us was a gift that we all shared, and he will be sorely missed.
As Rick's health continued to fade, your dedication and love shined through. I hope the strength and love you showed will sustain you until you are united with Rick again, and that you can take some comfort in knowing that the washing machine has completed its cycle and Rick is now resting easy as a proud member of the "Six Sigma" club!
My deepest sympathies,
Carl Chowaniec
