Richard Hobson Mothershead Jr.'s Obituary
Richard Hobson Mothershead, Jr. passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at his home in Covington, LA. He was born on August 22, 1936 in Baltimore, MD to the late Richard Hobson Mothershead, Sr. and Rose Edwards Mothershead.
Richard was the beloved husband of Vernie McLain Mothershead. He was the loving father of Brenda G. Willie (Joseph), Connie G. Sance (Steve), Sandra G. Stevens (Richard), the late Patricia G. Marmion, and Bonnie Glass. Richard was the proud grandfather of Bradley Willie, James Willie, Angel Rimes (Curt), David Sance, Chris Stevens (Amanda), Jessica Bolves (Andrew), Emma M. Moore (Matthew), and John Marmion (Kara); great-grandfather of David Cole Sance, Kaelyn Sance, Ashlyn Rimes, Savannah Rimes, Abygail Stevens, Brantley Bolves, and Scarlet Stevens. He was the brother of the late Lee Martin, Jack Mothershead, and Doris Mules.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, Richard discovered his love for travel, visiting all 50 states and travelling internationally. He was a draftsman by trade, designing electronic circuits for the U.S. Government among other companies. Richard also attended seminary, serving as a pastor in Sebring, FL. He was a strong, quiet, and caring man. He will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 2:00 PM. A WAKE will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 5:00 until 9:00 PM. Visitation on Monday will be from 12:00 Noon until service time.
