Richard “Rick” “Bud” “Kudu” Merrill Jones, on Sunday, February 18, 2007.
Beloved husband of Mona (Lisa) Guidry Jones and father of Brian Richard Jones and Brad Christopher Jones.
Age 54 years, a native of Venice, LA he has been a resident of Mandeville for the past 10 years.
Rick was a Drilling Operations Consultant of Complex Wells with Chevron Production Company for the last 33 years, having worked in Nigeria, Brazil, Russia, Bahrain and Papua New Guinea. He was a graduate of Buras High School and a 1974 Louisiana State University graduate, majoring in petroleum engineering.
Rick was a world traveler that loved hunting, fishing, gardening, Boure’ and Rummy.
Besides his wife and sons, Rick is survived by his mother, Marjorie Baygent Jones; his brothers, Robert B. Jones (JoAnn), Ronald G. Jones (Cindy); his sisters, Jenet J. Kuhlmann and Carol J. Roeder (Ralph); mother-in-law, Eve Chartier Guidry; Brothers-in-law, Eric J. Guidry, Jr. (Lorraine), Michael A. Guidry (Janice), Charles D. Guidry (Corlee); sisters-in-law, Julienne Guidry Erfle and Christine Guidry Baza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jones, Jr.; and father-in-law, Eric J. Guidry, Sr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 10:00 AM, from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville, LA 70448.
Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Street, Covington, LA 70433 and on Saturday AT THE CHURCH from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
