Sergeant Major Richard Allen Fields, U.S.M.C Ret., age 84 of Madisonville, LA died on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington, LA. Born, September 22, 1932 in Brownwood, TX to Leslie Smith Fields and Ruby Grantham Fields.
Survived by his Wife - Colleen Collier Fields, Sons - Leslie Allen Fields, Jeffrey Smith Fields, Daughters - Katie Collier Royston, Susan Fields Carpino, Denise Fields Knapke, Step-Son - David Louis Collier, Step-Daughter - Linda Collier Brown, 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his Father – Leslie Smith Fields, Mother - Ruby Grantham Fields, Brothers – Jimmy Fields, Hayden Fields, Thomas Fields, and Sister - Gloria Fields Parker.
He was owner/operator of the Madisonville Boat Yard, loved his yacht, Renaissance, a longtime member of the Krewe of Tchefuncte and an avid bowler having belonged to many leagues.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2017 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue Covington, LA 70433. Visitation on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 9:00 AM to service time.
Interment in Southeast LA Veterans Cemetery Slidell, LA.
