Richard Neal Clark's Obituary
Richard Neal Clark “Neal”, age 61, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. He was born on January 31, 1961 in Ft. Stockton, Texas.
Neal is survived by his wife, Carmen of 32 years, his two children, Alexandra Elisa (fiancé, Brent), Richard Neal, II, and his beloved Goldendoodle, Beignet. He is also survived by his siblings, Rebecca Arivett (Jerry) and Joseph Clark (Scootie), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Rambin Clark and father, Fred Y. Clark.
Neal grew up in Baton Rouge where he graduated from Episcopal High School. He attended Southern Methodist University, Louisiana State University, and graduated from the University of Louisiana – Lafayette where he earned a degree in finance. After graduating from college, Neal moved to New Orleans and began a career in banking. In 1995, he decided he no longer wanted to continue in banking, so he and his family moved to the Northshore where he decided that he would start his own mortgage company. He worked as a mortgage broker for over 30 years and loved working with, and helping every customer he had. At the time of his death, he and his partner had started a new company, Argent Lending, LLC and were in the process of renovating and moving into a new building.
Neal was a true servant to his community. He was always willing to help anyone and everyone that needed his help. He was a member of the Exchange Club of West St. Tammany and was on the Board of Directors of the Children's Advocacy Center-Hope House.
Neal enjoyed LSU and Saint's football games, golf, and reading. He enjoyed spending time with his fraternity brothers at SAE's annual softball tournaments and loved to play Bourré every Wednesday evening with his buddies. Around 2009, he decided he wanted to start boiling crawfish for his two children, nieces, and their friends while they attended college. It soon became an annual family tradition, and then friends were also included. Neal never met a stranger. He was loved dearly by his family and by all of his friends.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Neal's honor to the Children's Advocacy Center-Hope House at www.cachopehouse.org.
