Richard "Rick" James Billiot's Obituary
Richard James Billiot, 52, of Madisonville, Louisiana, was called to his heavenly home on September 26, 2025. He was born on October 13, 1972, and grew up in Houma, Louisiana. Richard dedicated his life to caring for others—first as a paramedic and later as a nurse. Most recently, he served as House Supervisor at Ochsner Baptist in New Orleans, where his steady leadership and compassion saved countless lives and touched all who knew him.
Outside of work, Richard found joy in the outdoors and could often be found fishing or riding his motorcycle. Above all, he cherished his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and friend, remembered most for his big smile and his rare gift of being fully present, especially in moments that mattered most. Richard carried a quiet strength and attentiveness. He met people where they were, making them feel understood—a gift that made him an extraordinary caregiver and friend.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Catherine Porche and George Arceneaux, and his mother, Mary Elizabeth Arceneaux.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kristin Sanchez Billiot, whom he married on September 9, 2017; and his children, Rachel (Parker), Juliana (5), and Jonah (4). He is also survived by his father, Rickey (Connie) Billiot; siblings, Scott (Erica) Billiot, Brandy Billiot, and Chad Billiot; as well as extended family and friends who loved him deeply.
Richard will be laid to rest in a private family service. The family invites all friends and loved ones to a Celebration of Life on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at Lakeshore Church in Covington (15261 Brewster Road). The service will include worship, reflections from family, and a time of fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward an education fund for Richard’s minor children. Richard was deeply passionate about ensuring they had every opportunity to learn and grow. Gifts can be sent via Venmo to @KBilliot254, and all contributions will be transferred into a 529 college savings plan in their names.
