She is also survived by her sisters Donna Maricelli (Rick), Marty Hines (Joel), and Sandra Mulkey (Jody) and her brother James Thornton (Donna), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Rhonda received and RN degree from Pearl River Jr. College.
She worked for 30 years at Highland Park Hospital, then Lakeview Hospital. She supervised the Emergency Room for many years and was deeply loved and respected by all of her fellow workers, employees and physicians.
She lived out a true servant’s heart. She tracked church attendance and searched for any sick, discouraged or simply missing. Then she made it her mission to cook, recruit and lure them back with her love. On a culinary level - her meals were superb and of the highest standard of excellence.
Whether it was a small gathering, a large dinner party of 200 or a festival of 500 - she and her team always found a way to raise the bar with new treats and old favorites. And they made it look so easy. Because of her genuine love for people, she never had a shortage of volunteers.
She also faithfully served as the church secretary for 45 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Pentecostals of Lee Road Church on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM with visitation at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services in Pentecostals of Lee Road Church Cemetery.
