Reuble E. Jenkins' Obituary
Reuble E. Jenkins, age 78 and a lifelong resident of Covington, LA died early Wednesday morning at his home in Barker’s Corner Community.
He was a retired chief cook for McDermott Inc. and helped in the establishment of the Lee Road Volunteer Fire Dept. He was well known in the area for help with charity barbeques and cookouts.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rowena G. Jenkins; 3 children, Eddie, David and Tammey; 2 daughters-in-law, Dorothy and Theresa; 7 grandchildren, Corey, Matthew, Tony, Zachery, Brigitte, Tanya and Christy; 5 great-grandchildren Ryan, Tucker, Tyler, Cayden and Raven; 7 brothers and sisters, Wilson, Tom, Hansel, Showalter, Joy, Irma and Aliene. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gertrude Jenkins and 6 brothers and sisters, Wylie, Raymond, Doyle, Adrian, Pearlie and Vernie. He is also survived by many more loving family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 with visitation on Friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.
Interment will follow in Spencer Cemetery.
