I met Renee at the Food and Wine Festival in Miami and she immediately invited me as a journalist to come and see her Jefferson Parish and I took her up on it she was so gracious took me around for several days showed me all her favorite places, favorite restaurants, and was such a joy to be with I made sure that I stayed in touch with her, I realized it may be now close to 10 years! She was so flattered that I stayed in touch but I thought she was such a wonderful person we shared our love for dogs and New Orleans, writing and it wasn't that long ago that I interact with her on Facebook so this is a shock, I always thought Renee would be around somewhere enjoying life, and I feel the loss. I am so sorry for the family, she was a bright light and a good soul
