Raymond Joseph Helffrich's Obituary
Raymond Joseph Helffrich passed away Thursday April 11, 2024 at the age of 95.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris Lily Juncker Helffrich.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Linda Helffrich Dubos (Louis) and 2 granddaughters; Jennifer Dubos Sadenwater (Daniel) and Lauren Dubos Rodelo (Augusto); along with 6 great grandchildren; Luke, Kate, Nora Sadenwater and Ethan, Mateo, Sebastian Rodelo.
He was born in New Orleans to Eleonora Antonia Roth and Jules Helffrich August 31,1928, and was the youngest of 6 children. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jules, Jean, Albert, Andrew Helffrich, and sister Althea Helffrich Larsen.
Raymond worked at Domino Sugar Refinery after graduating high school and worked his way up to become a millwright, until he retired.
Raymond was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as boat building and furniture making in his spare time.
He was always there to help family whenever he was needed and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
His family would also like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to St. Joseph's Hospice; especially Cari and Ryan, that helped us navigate our way through this storm. They provided outstanding compassion and kindness, and he looked forward to their visits.
All funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Raymond can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
