Raymond Anthony Baio Sr.'s Obituary
Raymond Anthony Baio, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Covington, LA on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the age of 89.
Only son of the late Sam E. Baio and Ethel Caillouet and step-son of the late Mabel P. Baio. Loving husband of 43 ½ years to Doris C. Baio. Caring father of Susan Hummel (Jerry), M’Liss Mitchell (Tommy), Raymond A. Baio, Jr., Robert J. Baio (Bea Bea), Connie Hansen (Steve), Ken Deffendall (Barbara) and Donna Jacob. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Baio was a proud United States Navy veteran of WW II. He was a former employee of South Central Bell and for many years a self-employed home builder. He was a member of the St. Tammany Home Builders Association as well as the Ozone Squares square dancing club. He and his wife are members of First Baptist Church of Covington. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Doris, and all of his family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16333 Hwy. 1085, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
