Raymond George Abide, Sr. passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009.
Beloved husband of Patricia Flanagan Abide for 53 years. Father of Raymond Jr. (Kelly), Judy Camp (Chuck), Mark (Tammy), James (Kathy), Carol Lambert (Ricky) and Christopher (Bonnie). Grandfather of Terry, Matthew, Stephanie, Chuck, Jordan, Nicholas, Christopher, Raymond III, Andrew, Maggie, Alexandra, Cole, Abigail and Patrick. Brother of Abe Abide. Preceded in death by parents Selma Zaiden and Philip Abide.
Age 75 years. A native of New Orleans, formerly of St. Bernard Parish and a resident of Covington, LA for the past 3 years. He graduated from St. Aloysius High School and LSU. He was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in St. Bernard for 40 years. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. A man of Manresa Retreat House for over 40 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, from 10:00 AM until service time.
Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
Memorial donations may be made to the Covington Food Bank, 840 N. Columbia St., Covington, LA 70433 or masses may be said.
