Randolph "Ronnie" Joseph Crochet, Jr.'s Obituary
Randolph “Ronnie” Joseph Crochet, Jr. age 91 of Covington, LA passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 15, 2026. He was born on February 11, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to Randolph Joseph Crochet, Sr. and Harriet Danaher Crochet.
Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be remembered for his love of family, storytelling and love of life.
Ronnie attended and graduated from St Martin’s Episcopal School in New Orleans. Ronnie furthered his education by graduating from SLI in Lafayette, LA (now ULL). He was a four-year letterman on the SLI football team. He graduated with a BSBA in 1956. Ronnie went on to have a successful business career where he was the founder of Crochet Equipment Company which he owned and operated until his retirement.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents Randolph Joseph Crochet, Sr. and Harriet Danaher Crochet, and his sisters Bonnie Crochet Dunkin and Connie Crochet Yahn.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years Lila Burch Crochet. Together they had 3 children Deborah Crochet Gannon, Charles Donald Crochet and Cheryl Crochet Hebert. He also had 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In his free time Ronnie enjoyed watching sports, in particular college and professional football. He spent many years boating, hunting, fishing and enjoying time at the camp! Those who knew him will remember him for his humor, storytelling, and love of family and life.
A family memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date. He will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Special Olympics of Louisiana or Muscular Dystrophy Association.
