Randall Conrad "Randy" Meyer Sr.'s Obituary
Randall Conrad “Randy” Meyer, Sr. passed away on March 19th at his home in Covington after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons. He was born on May 22nd, 1951, in New Orleans to the late Walter Conrad Meyer and Rosemary Reimmuth Meyer.
Randy attended Archbishop Rummel High School where he was a member of DXL Fraternity. He received a degree in Biology from S.E. University.
Randy was the beloved husband of Susan Marsolan Meyer. He was the loving father of Randall “Rusty” Conrad Meyer Jr. (Gina) and Jonathan Wade Meyer, stepfather to Saun August Sullivan and Justin John Sullivan. Randy was the proud grandfather to Domenic, Dante, Jack, Quinn, River, Scarlett, Bryce, Blake and Bella. He was the brother of the late Rhoda Portier and Uncle to Leslie Bell & Molly Mikhael.
Randy was a long time Home Builder and Developer. He was past president and Life Director of the Northshore Home Builders Association and served on many state and local homebuilding boards. Before his sickness he was active in the Northshore Business Council, the Board of the West Chamber of Commerce, the Alliance for Good Government among many more. He was instrumental in the development of many lovely subdivisions, including Beau Rivage, Madisonville Woods, Savannah Trace, Timberwood, Willow Bend, Fox Branch, Barkley Parc, and Terra Bella.
Randy was an avid numismatic, bird watcher, philatelist and movie buff.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, La 70433 on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Charity of your choice.
