Ralph Edwards Oalmann's Obituary
Ralph Edwards Oalmann, age 86, of Covington, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. He was born on July 20, 1938, in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
He is survived by his loving children, Teresa Coleman (Jeff), Donna Nimmo (Carl), and Ralph Edwards “Eddie” Oalmann, Jr.; grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, and Preston Nimmo and Nicholas and Matthew Coates; great granddaughter, Anaya Coates; brother, William Oalmann; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 27 years, Barbara “Max” Schneider Oalmann; parents, William Oalmann and Augusta Pearl Edwards Oalmann; and three sisters, Ruth, Margaret “Suzie”, and Marietta.
Ralph grew up in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and graduated from Bogalusa High School. He then attended Louisiana State University where he majored in foreign languages. He also served in the United States Air Force for 5 years and continued to serve in the Louisiana Air National Guard for 3 ½ years while becoming a commercial pilot. Ralph enjoyed a long career with Delta Airlines, ultimately retiring with over 30 years of service.
Ralph had strong religious convictions and was deeply rooted in his faith. An avid hunter, fisher, golfer, and reader, Ralph cherished his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all those he leaves behind.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 1:30 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in Abita Springs Cemetery.
