Rai Lynne Marie Sanchez Jarabica's Obituary
Rai Lynne Marie Sanchez Jarabica went to her heavenly home on June 25, 2022. Born on July 30, 1937, Rai Lynne was the loving mother to Donna Jarabica Bonnoitt (Ernest Louis Bonnoitt Jr.), Gerard Peter Jarabica (Rhonda Wilson Jarabica), Aaron Lloyd Jarabica (Deborah McRainey Jarabica) and her late son, Craig Christopher Furden.
She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Ernest Louis Bonnoitt III, David Michael Bonnoitt, Laura Michelle Bonnoitt Brantley, Molly Ann Jarabica, Mason Alexander Jarabica, Morgan Parish Jarabica and Christa Hope Furden.
Rai Lynne was the great grandmother of seven, with two more on the way, Jackson Louis Bonnoitt, Ella Jane Bonnoitt, Grace Ann Bonnoitt, Michael Conrad Bonnoitt, Elaine Rai Bonnoitt, Taylor Christopher Brantley Jr. and Benedict Louis Brantley.
Rai Lynne is survived by her sister, Karen Gayle Sanchez Lodrigues; and was the sister of the late Fernand William Sanchez Jr., Thomas Percy Sanchez, Dorothy Dale Sanchez Russell. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and a large circle of, life long, friends. All of whom she loved and was loyal to.
At 23, Rai Lynne was a single mom with four children and a ninth-grade education, but she went on to achieve great accomplishments, in a variety of vocations. Her motto was “Don’t Quit”, and she lived up to it!!
She earned her G.E.D., took classes in office management skills, learning book keeping, shorthand and secretarial services. She moved on to become a salesperson for Werlein’s Music, where she worked for years, earning many sales awards. There she became a Keyboard Counselor, learned to play the piano, and gave piano lessons.
Rai Lynne, reinvented herself again. She became a realtor, then advanced to a broker, quickly opening Rai Lynne Reality, where she developed many million-dollar agents, taught real estate classes at Delgado, and became a real estate investor. She was the first woman appointed to the Louisiana Real Estate Commission by Governor David Treen. Additionally, she wrote a column in the West Bank Guide called “Real Estately Your’s” for 8 years. In 1974, she was named one of the “Who’s Who in Louisiana”.
After leaving the Real Estate Business, Rai Lynne moved to the Northshore. She dedicated herself to serving others in the insurance business, where she achieved many more awards, namely, the President Club Award, from Global Atlantic Insurance in May, 2022.
She tirelessly served the Northshore community in many ways, such as working the polls for elections and participating in the prayer shawl ministry at OLOL. She was an active member of the Lions Club, the DAR, the Northshore Singles Club, and more!!
Rai Lynne loved playing the piano. She took piano lessons for years, participated in several International Jazz Camps and played in a band for retirement homes. Her passion for music and the joy it brought to people will always be an integral part of her legacy.
Rai Lynne loved her family and friends, playing cards and being silly. She was forever young, loyal and generous to all. She loved Jesus and left kindness where ever she went.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana 70433 on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 3:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time.
Interment will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Louis Cemetery, #3, New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers please send donations to S.T.O.P.S. (St. Tammany Outreach for the Prevention of Suicide) 427 N. Thread Street, Covington, Louisiana 70433.
