Dear Jan and Family: I am so saddened by the news of Mike's passing. Mike was a delightful friend and classmate in Lubbock. You both were a joy to be around at all the MHS/LHS '56'reunions over the years. Mike seemed to light up a room when he walked into it. I will always remember that you and Mike were the last ones I hugged and bid farewell to as I was leaving our July 2011 reunion...we never could have imagined that would be Mike's last one. Our remaining reunions will never be the same without Mike Stevens! We will miss him so very much! My thoughts and prayers are with you...praying God's Love, Comfort, Peace, and Strength, along with all your precious memories, will surround and sustain you and your family at this most difficult and painful time. We were so saddened by the news of Mike's death. He was a true friend and such a neat guy, who possessed such a loving Spirit. His energy and dedication to whatever he undertook was an example and testimony for all of us. We will miss him.
We rejoice that he has completed his journey on this earth and is now enjoying life with Jesus, our Heavenly Father, and the Hosts of Heaven.

I worked with Mike for over two years with Prison Ministries. He was a tremendous inspiration to me and a mentor.
He brought me around to tour the dormitories, clinic, yard and cell block to minister to the inmates.
I will greatly miss him but know that he made it to heaven. I will never forget him. God rest your soul Mike.

Mike's positive attitude and zest for life was infectious; he was so infused with the joy and energy of the Holy Spirit. What a great vessel for God he was! Until we see him again, we'll miss Mike's hugs and bright smiles. We pray our Lord will uphold you and allow you to feel whole again soon.
Many times when I needed encouragement, Michael was there giving me a boost. I am so thankful for his life and the many times I was blessed by his wisdom. The thing I loved Michel most for was those hours he gave walking the walks at Rayburn Correctional sharing Jesus with any who would listen. Only eternity will tell how many of these men will enjoy heaven because of Michael's unselfesh love and devotion he had for them. It takes a life entergised by the power of the Holy Spirit and genuine love for Jesus to give of themselves for others as Michale did. What a great Man!

Mike was a very special and up beat man. He and Jan were always a big inspiration to us, for all of their tireless, and unselfish work and dedication to their ministries. May God bless them both, and we pray Mike has found peace, and relief from all his health struggles. We love them both.
