The thing I remember most about Uncle Prentiss is his kindness and his laugh. Before Aunt Rita and Uncle Prentiss had there own children, we (Nieces and Nephews) were their surrogate children. They went to every Birthday, Graduation, Wedding, family event our family had. They catalogued our lives in photographs. They are our families Historians. There were many challenges with our large family with what most would consider to be disabilities. We consider them to be life lessons of the highest order. We are a close family and our favorite thing is still gathering together. Mostly involves a lot of great food and laughter. I am the oldest Niece Julie. I probably have the most memories of my Uncle and Aunt. I'm thankful for them both and I know that my Uncle will certainly be celebrated by all there, in is transition from this life into the glory of Heaven to wait for the rest of us and be granted his well deserved rest in the arms of the Lord. I love you all. God heal in time 🌹💕

We are so saddened by the passing of our dear classmate and friend Prentiss. All of our memories of Prentiss are good ones. He was always such a kind and sweet guy. Even in Port Sulphur High School, he was a good friend and a positive and inspiring classmate. There are only positive memories of him and they bring a smile! We didn't live in the same town, so couldn't spend time together regularly, but he and Rhetta were always there for our class reunions, no matter where they were.

There is no doubt Prentiss went Home to Heaven, to the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He has seen the Face of God and lives in his Heavenly body rejoicing at being in the presence of the Trinity! Prentiss is now Saint Prentiss Burnette Nettles, Jr. singing praises to God and joining in The Communion of Saints. He lived a blessed life here with his family and now is living the reward he so deserves. We were blessed to have him as family and friend. We will treasure our memories of times with Prentiss and pray Rhetta, his children, his grandchildren, and all who loved him will carry his spirit with them. He left a piece of himself with each of us and he took our love with him.

God bless his family with wonderful memories and the comfort only He can give.
