Phyllis Knight Peralta's Obituary
Phyllis K. Peralta passed away with her daughter, Loretta Gill by her side, at Loretta’s residence in Savanna, Oklahoma at the age of 93. She retired from the New Orleans Parish School Board after 30+ years.
Phyllis was a volunteer at St Tammany Parish Hospital for 14+ years. Born, Wednesday, March 26, 1930 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Louis Bryant Knight and Phyllis Frey Knight. She was a lifelong resident of Chalmette until 2005 (Katrina) and resided in St. Tammany Parish, then she spent time in Orange Beach, Alabama with her son, Steven Peralta (Amy). Then she moved to Savanna, Oklahoma with her daughter, Loretta Gill (Tinker). Survived by her son, Steven L Peralta (Amy) and Loretta Peralta Gill (Tinker), 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Elliott F. Peralta; sons, David E. Peralta and Elliott T. “Chip” Peralta; brother, Louis B. Knight, and sister, Beverly K Perry.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA.
