Peggy Jeanne Cain Christian's Obituary
Peggy Jeanne Cain Christian, a long time Louisiana resident passed away peacefully on Sunday June 6, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born June 12, 1931 in Independence, Kansas, and was the daughter of W. Frank Cain and Irma Agnes Meyer Cain. She is survived by her children John Catlett Christian III and his partner Susan Maness, Alice Christian Long and husband Andrew F. Long, Carol Shack Lappin and her husband Richard Lappin and brother Larry Cain and wife Pat Cain.
Peggy was blessed with three granddaughters: Charlotte Christian Castejon, Catherine Catlett Christian, and Camille Corinne Christian. She is preceded in death by her husband John Catlett Christian, Jr., daughter Cathleen Marie Christian, and her parents W. Frank Cain and Irma Agnes Meyer Cain, and brothers Marvin Cain and William Cain.
Peggy, a devoted mother, and housewife met her husband John while attending college in Springfield, Missouri. They were married for 67 years and resided in Louisiana most of their married life where her husband practiced law. They retired to Covington, Louisiana and enjoyed the mutual interest of playing golf, caring for their pet dogs, and traveling to their summer home in North Carolina.
Peggy had many interests while raising her children. She was a top real estate agent in Timberlane and Gretna, Louisiana. She played golf and enjoyed painting, sewing, and gardening. She was an avid bridge player and loved getting together with her friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday June 11, 2021. Visitation begins at 1:00 pm with services at 3:00 PM. Interment will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
