Pearl Eleanor Trapani's Obituary
Pearl Eleanor Johnson Trapani, age 85 years, died Thursday, April 30, 2009.
Most devoted and loving wife for 68 years of August G. Trapani, Jr., she is also survived by her children Judy T. Hummel (Ki), Joan T. Ibos (Emile), Tim Trapani,Theresa T. Jolissaint (Mark),Melissa T. Porretto (Lloyd),and Angela T. Luksch (Chris). Also left to cherish her memory are 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her sons Charles G. Trapani, Sr., and Christopher Trapani and two sisters Dorothy J. Collins and Janet J. Lorenz. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Johnson and Myrtle Perrilloux Johnson Jenkins and the beloved stepdaughter of the late Charles Jenkins.
Pearl was a native of Covington later residing in the Folsom area. She was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Folsom and a member of the St. Tammany Hospital Guild. On February 2, 1941, Pearl and Gus’ marriage ceremony was the first to be celebrated at the present St. Peter Catholic Church, which was their family church for many years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m.
Visitation will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m.
Private family interment services will follow mass.
