Paul J. McCormack's Obituary
Paul J. McCormack, age 89, peacefully entered eternal life on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at 9:45 pm, at Carriage Court of Memphis, TN, an assisted living facility where he resided the past 4 years. He was a native of New Orleans and former longtime resident of Covington, LA, an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, and a member of the Ozone Squares Dancing Club.
He was born, March 26, 1931 in New Orleans, LA. He served as a paratrooper in the Army, Company A, 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment, 11th Airborne Division stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky during the Korean War, and is a member of the American Legion Post #16 in Covington.
Paul was a fun-loving person who liked to tell jokes, pull fun pranks on people at work, and always tried to make people laugh. He was a character, but he had a big heart. He was a kind person who loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and he was the best Dad anyone could ever have. He will be missed by many whose hearts he touched through his earthly journey. He is survived by his son - Bryan Paul McCormack, daughter - Bonnie McCormack Price (husband, Bill Edward Price), and Grandchild - Zachary Jared Price.
He was preceded in death by his father – Hugh John McCormack, mother – Catherine Pearl Schmolke McCormack, brothers – Hugh Paul McCormack, George McCormack, Marcel Raymond McCormack and sister – Catherine McCormack.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 3:00 pm on FRIDAY, JULY 24, 2020 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433. Visitation AT THE FUNERAL HOME, on Friday, July 24, 2020 is from 1:30 PM to service time. Interment is in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Covington, LA directly following the service.
