Paul Vincent Dillon Sr.'s Obituary
Paul Vincent Dillon, Sr. passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the age of 81.
Beloved husband of 61 years to Gail Patricia Canane Dillon. Loving father of Kathleen Ducote (Donnie), Paul Dillon, Jr. (Teresa), Christine Kramer (Kevin) and the late Vincent Dillon. Son of the late Mary K. O’Neill Dillon and Luke A. Dillon, Sr. Brother of Joan Wenzel and David Dillon, and the late Luke Dillon, Jr., Virginia Boulay, Barbara Van Buskirk, and Robert Dillon. Grandfather of Casey Kramer, Kelsey Foster (Casey), Kip Kramer, Taylor Ducote, Kendall Kramer, Skylar Dillon and Christian Kramer. Great-grandfather of Cash Foster and Jett Foster.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army. His career with United Parcel Service that lasted for 34 years, transplanted him from Worcester, Massachusetts to Slidell, Louisiana in 1971. After retiring from UPS, he was co-owner alongside his wife, of Slidell Regency Limousine for 18 years. He loved being involved in the community as he served in the Knights of Columbus, Worcester Auxiliary Police, Elks Club, American Legions, Moose Lodge, and on the Slidell Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for Government Affairs. He was a long time parishioner of St. Margaret Mary and St. Luke’s. In his free time, he was an avid golfer, obtaining 3 Holes in one, at the Pinewood Golf and Country Club. He loved travelling, particularly on Cruise Ships. He most enjoyed spending time with family and especially, his grandchildren. He leaves behind his beloved dogs Angel and Snickers.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Paul’s life at Christwood, 100 Christwood Blvd., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Internment in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Dillon to be made to the St. Tammany Humane Society.
