So sorry for your loss Kay! Thinking of you!
To Paul, a great friend, and to the many that had the privilege to know him.
Paul’s life could never be celebrated or summed up in a nutshell, it just wouldn’t fit. Paul was engaging, thoughtful and kind, a man of conviction who stood firm and tall for what he thought in his heart he was that way to the very end. How many hands he lifted; we will never know; always with a good heart to the extent he could, this was Paul, always ready to help a friend and or be supportive of a good cause, this was the way he was. Without question he certainly was a great American. His love of family was immensely strong, and too, it goes without saying there was that special bond with friends. Always, when in his presence there would be happy sounds of laughter, humor to no end, and when he would say “a chicken could pull a freight train” you better get on for in some way you would think it to be true. His humor was so natural, delightful and unique, without doubt, a special gift that was truly him.
There was that special something about Paul, magic if you will, his spirit became a part of you, no doubt it was something you could feel , a “Man’s Man” to say the least. Paul’s presence could spark a light that could brighten the spirits of everyone in a room wherever it might be. For those who were there who didn’t know him, they found a new friend. Paul surely was always about people and he enjoyed being with them. No doubt, so many who knew Paul would have loved to be dynamic like him. Although from New Orleans, Covington is where he wanted to be; he developed so many close bonds with people and a deep love for this community.
Thanks to Paul, for the good he has done to help improve Covington. An example of a creative mind, the team of oxen, a mural on the exterior wall of the old bank on New Hampshire facing Boston; a painting because of Paul, his idea and message of team work, pulling together for a city he loved; this was his hope for Covington. And so, to a great guy, as biblically stated “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he”; surely this was Paul, a man of love and charity. No, not goodbye to the great one, but for now, so long my friend till we meet again. Your spirit in Heaven, no doubt, will be a welcomed one.
And to you Kay, an angel here on earth, your love and compassion for people like Paul’s, but in a quiet way, you are and have been an inspiration and blessing to us all and thank you for all that you have done. A loving bond of forty seven years, Paul was a blessed man to have had you by his side through thick and thin. As life would be, there were mountains to climb and valleys to cross, your love and support for each other; you both were and will be as one.
May the grace of our Lord continue to bless and be with you and may all the prayers of loved ones and friends be a source of strength and comfort to you.

So sorry to hear this Kay. David remembers you from Elmwood and sends his condolences. Thinking of you and praying for your family.
Paul never met a stranger. He made everyone feel welcome. He was active in so many charitable causes. He made his friends laugh at our weekly lunches. Even when he was sick he would always ask how things were going and if he could do anything for you. He will be greatly missed by so many. My paralyses are with Kay and the rest of the family. Rest In Peace my friend.
Kay I’m so sorry for your loss. You will be in my prayers.
I have nothing but warm memories of Paul's friendship going back to our freshman year at LSU when we were fraternity brothers. He never lacked a smile or a good word anytime we met. A valued friend that will be sorely missed.,
With deepest sympathy to the family and prayers for Paul
