Paul Steven Becnel, Jr.'s Obituary
Deputy Paul Steven Becnel, Jr. went home to the angels on Saturday May 26, 2012 due to a tragic car accident. He was born May 8, 1984 in Metairie, LA to Paul S. Becnel, Sr. and Pamela Strohmeyer Briley and has been a resident of Covington since 1996. He was the step-son of Donald Briley and Fran Becnel.
Steven was a loving daddy to Natalie Caroline Becnel, age 3. He was the grandson of Kathleen Loveland and the late Roy Strohmeyer and Daniel Becnel, and the late Una Mae Becnel. He is also survived by two sisters, Ashlyn Caillouet, and her husband Dennis, Lisa Briley and step-siblings Brandy Smith and Mark Dominique. Steven was known as Bubba to his nieces and nephews, Katelynn, Ava, Delaney, Ty, Faith and Jayden. He is also survived by Natalie's mother, Emily Gillett Becnel as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, fellow deputies, rugby teammates, and friends. Steven was a wonderful young man and a deputy with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office. He spent his spare time playing rugby, hunting, and fishing. Steven will be loved and sadly missed by all, forever. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend funeral services at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. A wake is scheduled for Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6-9:00 PM with visitation beginning Thursday at 9:00 AM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington will immediately follow the service.
