Patricia Douglas Harris' Obituary
Patricia Douglas Harris passed away on December 9, 2025, at the age of 79 after battling pancreatic cancer for over two years. Pat was in born in New Orleans on February 26, 1946 to Bodie and Noelie Douglas. She is survived by her devoted husband Jeff Harris, daughters Heather Harris Watkins (husband, Jeff Watkins) and Stacie Harris Faucheaux (husband, Neal Faucheaux), her cherished grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Camryn Faucheaux, Connor Faucheaux, Jack Watkins, Emory Watkins, Evan Watkins, Lane Watkins, Lincoln Watkins, her two sisters, Pam Douglas Thompson, and Peggy Douglas Nugent, and a host of many other family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Bodie Douglas, her mother, Noelie Courouleau Douglas, and her brother, Dr. Bodie E. Douglas.
A native of New Orleans, and proud resident of Mandeville, LA for over 54 years, Pat graduated from Mid-City Baptist High School in New Orleans. After high school, she attended UNO and LSU, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education. Pat began her teaching career in New Orleans, then taught many years in the Mandeville school district. She continued working in the scholastic sales industry, eventually retiring from St. Tammany Parish Hospital Human Resources Department. She remains well-respected and loved throughout our community by the many lives she’s touched over the years.
Pat was loved by everyone she met. To know Pat Harris, was to love and respect Pat Harris. She loved spending time with her family, taking walks around the neighborhood, being outdoors with her plants, and working in her water garden. But most of all, she loved spending time In God’s Word, fellowshipping with friends from church, attending Bible studies, and spreading the Gospel of Christ to anyone who would listen. Her life was a true testament to her devotion and passion for Christ.
She will be deeply missed. Most who knew her, will remember her as beautiful, smart, kind, passionate, loving, caring, giving, reliable, and very set in her ways. No one will ever be able to fill her shoes. Pat was simply one of a kind, and wanted to know that everyone she met would one day spend the rest of their lives with Jesus. Even in her last days, she was reciting Scripture and praying for those she knew.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by Ashley, her nurse, as well as the other nurses, CNA, and staff at St. Tammany Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, Pat requested that donations be made to Mandeville Bible Church and to the Mandeville Samaritan’s Center on her behalf.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Mandeville Bible Church, 217 Carroll Street, Mandeville, LA 70448, at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
