Patricia "Patti" Ferguson Brunning's Obituary
Patricia “Patti” Ferguson Brunning, born on September 7, 1946, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Patti was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose strength, loyalty, and vibrant spirit touched everyone blessed to know her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas “Tommy” E. Brunning III, and their two sons, Lance Brunning and Casey Brunning. Patti welcomed their wives, Amy and Jennifer, with the same love and devotion she gave her own children.
She cherished her large and lively family. Lance and Amy are the parents of Christian Brunning and Ashley Auttonberry. Ashley brought Patti the joy of five great-grandchildren—Dallas, Beaux, Izabel, Walker, and Aria—each one a light in her life. Casey and Jennifer’s daughters, Charlee and Payton, completed the family she adored so deeply, and she treasured the time she was able to spend with them.
Patti was known widely for her unwavering strength and her fierce loyalty to the people she loved. She was a friend who showed up—never missing an event she was invited to, no matter how big or small. She remembered every birthday and milestone, reaching out with calls, cards, or messages right up to her final days. She lived for photos and updates about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their achievements with genuine excitement and pride.
She was unforgettable in the best ways: proudly wearing her beloved mink coats—often heavier than she was—and sometimes even in the heat of midsummer. She loved bright colors and wore them boldly, reflecting the energy and joy she carried with her. Patti said exactly what she thought, never mincing words, yet her honesty was always paired with a warm heart and her laugh could brighten any room. She had a way of making the people she loved feel seen and valued.
Patti was cremated, and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church, located at 125 E 19th Ave., Covington, Louisiana, on Friday, February 13, 2026. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass with her urn present as loved ones gather to honor her life.
Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, and her legacy of love, laughter, honesty, and devotion will continue to live on in all who knew her.
