Oscar Philip Gonzales Jr.'s Obituary
Oscar Philip Gonzales, Jr., 85 of Lacombe, LA passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Slidell Memorial Hospital with family and friends by his side. He was born on March 21, 1932 in New Orleans, LA to Oscar Philip Gonzales, Sr. and Jennie Allange Gonzales.
Oscar is survived by his children of his first marriage to Juanita Flores, Oscar P. Gonzales, III., Cheryl Molina and Allen Gonzales; his step-children from his third marriage Theresa Nunez, Walter M. Cook III, Theresa Tant, John Cook, and Mitchell Cook; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Estell Nicosa, his brother Rodney Gonzales, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son Tracy J. Gonzales; his brother Hale Gonzales; and his sister Anna Jennie Elliot.
Oscar was the owner of Oscar’s Auto Repair for over 40 years and was the best auto mechanic. He also worked for Waste Management for several years. After his career with Waste Management, he owned Lacombe Auto Parts for two years. Oscar proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Owakihi, Hawaii in the 1950’s. He was an avid bowler for many years at Sugar Bowl Lanes, Orbit Lanes, Tiffany Lanes, and several others over the years.
