Norman Devecmon Ott III's Obituary
Dr. Norman Devecmon Ott, III of Mandeville, Louisiana succumbed on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 to a lengthy illness. He was born on April 1, 1947 in Bogalusa, LA. After graduating from Bogalusa High School, Dr. Ott earned his BS Degree in Biology at Southeastern Louisiana University and then his MD though Louisiana State University School of Medicine in 1973. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at LSU Shreveport and entered private practice in Franklinton, Louisiana. He completed his medical career as owner and Medical Director of Louisiana Primary Care Consultants from 2009 until his death.
Dr. Ott is survived by his beloved wife, Chalise Perrin Ott, and his son, James Weston Ott and daughter, Catherine Grace Ott; his son, Patrick Ott and his sister, Elizabeth Ott. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Fussell Ott, and his father, Norman Devecmon “Speedy” Ott, Jr.
Norman loved hunting, fishing and time with his family. He was never more at peace than with his friends and family at his beloved Mount Hermon. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and considered the guiding principles of his life to be “God, Family, and Honor.” He will be sorely missed. A Service at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 9:30 AM-11:00AM. Interment will follow the service at the Ott Family Cemetery in Mt. Hermon, LA . The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Paul’s School, 917 South Jahncke, Covington, LA 70433.
