Please accept my deepest sympathies. My name is Sebastian Gagliardo. Nathaniel and I served in the same Officer Candidate School platoon in September 1968. After graduation in November 1968 as Second Lieutenants, Nathaniel (I called him ‘Loomis’ as we all called each other by our last names when in OCS) went to Intelligence School and I went to Pensacola for flight training after The Basic School. I lost contact with him after that. I just knew he went to Vietnam. Now randomly searching Google, I found his Obituary. Although we were together for a short time, we had many great and humorous moments. May he rest in peace.

Bart and I served together in 1/9 on Okinawa, where he was my Company Commander, and with 1/1 in Vietnam where he was the S-2. Bart were a good, strong leader...a Combat Marine! In April of 2016, I will return to Vietnam and Hill 37 and pause to remember Him and Ong Canh, his beloved Kit Carson Scout...it was a blessing to have served with them both...

I am shocked and saddened by the passing of your Dad/husband. Bart and I were sweethearts in Middle School in Greenwich, CT, and had recently reconnected after 55 years.
