Nathan Jay Crockett's Obituary
Nathan Jay Crockett passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022 at the age of 72. He was born on September 14, 1949 to Alcus Crockett and Alma Myers Crockett.
Nathan is survived by his loving wife of 50 plus years, Mary Ann Diver Crockett; his daughter, Vickie Lynn Crockett Jones (Jeffrey Dwaine Jones); his grandchildren, David Michael Crockett (Brienne), Grant Dwaine Jones (Heather) and Matthew Jared Jones (Lindsay); and his great grandchildren, Lana, Braylee, Kennedy, Jensen, Remi and Levi. He is also survived by his brothers, James Harold Crockett and Sidney “Jay” Joseph Crockett.
Nathan is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Bertha Dedon, John “Red” Henry Cortez, James Leroy Cortez, Bobby Crockett, Milton Crockett, Sylvia Williams, Patricia Morse, and Marilyn “Lynn” Barker.
A native of Covington, LA and lifetime resident of Folsom, LA for over 49 years, Nathan was drafted into the Army and served for 6 years. After being honorably discharged, he began working in the construction industry for Boh Brothers Construction as a welder. He worked for them for over 43 years and retired as a foreman.
Nathan was family oriented, loving, kind, humble, caring, and loyal. He was talented in welding and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and working in his garden. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family. Nathan was well respected and liked, and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to his loving wife, Mary Ann Crockett.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington LA on Friday, May 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM. There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and then again on Friday, May 6, 2022 beginning at 9:00 until service time. Interment will follow the service in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, 20116 Stafford Road (Hwy 1081), Covington, LA.
