Nancy Laura Welden's Obituary
Nancy Laura Welden passed away, at the age of 68 on Sunday September 2, 2018 after a long struggle with Huntington’s disease.
She was born on Christmas day 1949 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to her parents John B. Welden Jr. and Nancy “Jane” Mull.
The family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1955 where she enjoyed school, scouting, playing violin and singing in the school choir. She graduated with honors from Northeast Louisiana University, Monroe, LA in 1973 with a Master of Arts in English. Nancy returned to New Orleans to begin her work career as an English teacher at Riverdale High School, Jefferson, LA. She then held senior secretary and executive assistant positions with Delta Steamship Lines, Daryl Berger Companies, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. Nancy was an avid reader and loved to travel. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Covington.
She is survived by her mother Jane and brother John B. Welden III.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Thursday beginning at 10:00 AM.
