Nancy Burgess Richard's Obituary
Nancy Burgess Richard passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born on August 17, 1931 in Biloxi, MS to William Harold Burgess and Edna Davis Burgess.
Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Philip B. Richard for 65 years. She is survived by her Godson, Ramon and his wife, Carolyn Garcia, her nephew, Bruce and his wife, Jan Garner, and her nephew, Danny and Barbara Towner. Nancy was the sister of the late Edna Towner and Joyce Cox.
Nancy was educated in the Biloxi, Mississippi school system. She graduated from Biloxi High School on May 26, 1949. She entered Touro Infirmary School of Nursing and on completion of the courses, graduated on May 29, 1952. Nancy went on to work for the surgical department for a year before becoming a private scrub nurse and head nurse to Dr. Herman Rabin at Fisher Rabin Medical Center. After working for Dr. Rabin for eight and one-half years, Nancy and Phil moved to Orlando, FL when Phil was offered a management position with W. W. Grainger. In 1985, Phil retired and they moved to Covington, LA.
Private services were held by the family.
