Nancy Jo Espy Fletcher's Obituary
On July 10, 2026, Nancy Jo Espy Fletcher, age 81, of Covington, LA passed away peacefully in the arms of her devoted husband after a life filled with love, a deep faith in God, and an unwavering dedication to her family.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rebecca Espy. She will be remembered as a beloved wife, sister mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and a cherished friend who was blessed with a heart that beat with one purpose and one purpose only, to bring joy to those she loved. Despite being petite in statue, Nancy’s heart was immeasurable.
Nancy graduated from Grove City College in 1967 and began her career as a teacher before later becoming an editor for a major publishing company.
Nancy was a unique individual with a radiant spirit, bright smile and a generous heart, who positively impacted the lives of all those who knew her. She loved singing in the choirs at First Baptist Church, was an active member of Young at Heart and her Connect Group Bible study.
Whether baking ginger snap cookies for her neighbors or delivering delicious meals for those in need, Nancy’s hospitality, compassion and ability to bring joy and encouragement to others will always be remembered and cherished. She will not only be remembered for her bright, sunbeam smile and infectious laugh, but also for her effortless grace, inner beauty and selfless love for others.
Nancy was a faithful encourager who never stopped being a cheerleader for those she loved. While her earthly presence will be deeply missed, her love, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Today, we rejoice knowing that Nancy is in presence of, and dancing with Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Ministry at First Baptist Covington.
Funeral services will be held at the Chapel of First Baptist Church Covington 16054 Murphy Rd on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
