Nancy Jo Deacon Clemons' Obituary
Nancy Jo Clemons, 79, departed for her eternal life on February, 21, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. It’s only fitting that the name Nancy means “grace”, as she was so full of kindness, service, and goodwill. She fought a valiant battle with multiple sclerosis that created many obstacles in her life; however, it did not define her. She firmly believed that there were 3 words that kept you going; faith, family, and friends. No matter what was thrown her way, she always had a smile on her face.
Nancy was born August 4, 1941 in ElizabethTown, Kentucky to the late Marvin and Ruby Deacon.
Nancy was preceded in death by her true soulmate, husband of 60 years, Bobbie Clemons; daughter, Sherry Cazaux, and great-granddaughter, Karley Cazaux.
She will be remembered and honored by her children, Teri (Gary) Peck, Larry (Donna) Clemons, and Denise (Neil) Guidry; son-in-law, Larry Cazaux, grandchildren Bobbi Jo Bridges, Travis Cazaux, Bradley (Molly) Peck, Nancy (Cole) Terrell, Cody (Katie) Clemons, Brandon (Brooke) Clemons, Colt (Hannah) Clemons, Austin, Bobbie, and Chloé Guidry; great-grandchildren; Katie, Jack-Ryan, Garrett, Kaden, Ella, Baby Peck, Liam, Jax, Lane, Baela, Brynlee, Brooklyn, and Cash; sisters Norma (Ronnie) Ramsey and Linda (late Jim) Wishart, sister-in-law, Betty Hoyle; and a host of nieces and a nephew.
Nancy was a devoted wife and a very involved mother and grandmother. She spent many years as a classroom mom, Covington High School Future Farmers of America volunteer and supporter, traveled many miles across the country representing Farm Bureau, and was an active member of the Madisonville Garden Club. She never missed a dance recital, beauty pageant, or cow show. She truly embraced the idea of living life to the fullest. She had a passion for all things music and dance. Even though she was physically confined to a wheelchair for many years, when given the choice to sit it out or dance, she always found a way to dance.
We know our beloved Mom, Granny, sister, and friend is free from her disease and walking hand-in-hand through the Great Heavenly Garden with God and her forever love, Bobbie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Ave, Covington, LA 70433 on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Sunday beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow the services in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA.
